Need info on Dodge Ram 1500s.

My sister just banged up her '91, and they totaled it for some reason. It's all in good shape still.

It's a V8, Low Kms, 3/4 ton extracab longbox.. auto.

anyone got info.. I'm just wondering if there's anything in it worth the buyback fee.

Uh, if'n it was a 3/4 ton....that would make it a 2500 series

So it seems that you really have is 1/2 ton if it's a 1500

If it is a 1500, it should have a Dana 44 in the front, and a 360 V-8 under the hood. I don't know much more than that, I have a 2000 Ram 1500, but I'm not sure what the '91's had for tranny/xfer case or rear axle.

Should have a 9-1/4" rear axle. I think the transfer case will be a 208.

Stressed.. I'm trying to organise this for my sister so the insurance doesn't rip her off, and not having too much luck.

The 44 front doesn't have manual hubs..
anyone know if they are auto? vaccume?
WHat size drop is it.. I can't remember havne't seen the truck in ages. anyone guessing gears?

Rear isn't very desirable is it?

But the running 360 and NP208 is worth something right?

Also I'm pretty sure you can get the 318 in the 4X4's too. So it might be that.

And I don't know around you.....but they don't part very well around me.

DD is right, it could be the 318. I think the 360 is more common, however.

The entire thing will be parted out if it's worth it for my sister.

This depends on the buyback cost, and the parts it has in it.

Up to 1993, they were passenger side drop. After 1994, Dodge went to driver's side drop. So that transfer case wouldn't work in your friend's 97.

There is a good chance that it had a central axle disconnect similar to the YJ. In the hubs are just drive flanges.
