Ok, since it was brought up in another post,
What does everybody do to pay for their trucks? (what is your job?)
And because I am interested, What are your qualifications? (what do you have for education?)

I am a Applications Specialist for Applied Bolting Technology That means that I deal with the non standard applications of our product (standard application is in structural steel, bridges, power plants, highrise buildings, sports stadiums, etc.). I deal with truck companies, Home Depot and a few other interesting applications.

I deal with all of the Mechanical projects, which is good because I have an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (which means that I understand how to build hydraulic steering, and 3,4,5,and 6 bar linkages that work!).

So what about all the rest of you?

Well here goes...I'm 34 married 10 years with 2 daughters, 4&2. Spent ten years working for Uncle Sam...Jumping out of planes and shooting people. Couldn't get a job when I got out, so...Back to School it was. I have a BS in Nursing. I work ER in a major Trauma center. I get enough cracks about being a male RN so keep them to yourselves. The money is great and every now and then you interupt the natural selection process. Remember if you ain't bleeding you ain't hurt...

JP, Never been a car dealer (hope I’m not ever either) I just like old cars especially British ones. The winters are cold and long here so I have lots of time to work on em. About the ten years younger thing... I tell people that she is real mature for her age and that I'm really immature for mine so we kinda meet in the middle.

JP, Joke was well taken don't worry. There were a few in your list I'd like too. I'm in the middle of building a new garage to work on stuff this winter (triing to get it all done before the snow flies) but the building inspector is holding things up a bit. Just out of curriosity what would you all like to have in a dream garage if you could afford it ? I'm building 20'w x31'd with 10.5'ceiling. It'll probably be spring before I get the floor poured(I'm going with radiant heating in the floor to keep my butt warm while doing those brake job's)
Stuff I have
Mig welder
torches
drill press
grinder(bench)
1 8'x30" bench
1 8'x15" bench part of a cupbord unit
roll cab tool box
3 nice metal cabinets I scored from work (plan on putting wheels on em to move around)
a nice set of ramps that are 17"h (only the truck gets up on those I can sit upright under the PF to do oil changes)

Stuff I'd like
a lift(reality dictates NOT, for the lack of ceiling hight)

Anything else you guy's might suggest ?

Well lets see..........hmmm aside from the ones you already have............
Plasma Cutter /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif
Tubing Bender (or is it Bendder/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif)
Air Compressor, and a miriad of tools to accompany it.
Lathe & Milling machine, for those custom parts /wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif
A 25 ton press (works great as a soda can crusher)
3 parts trucks.

Keep the ideas comin guy's. Rest assured I'm takin notes! I do have the compressor but just a small protable one(20gal tank) bigger is always better! The press is a real good idea too.

The nick name was supposed to be bender "as in metal bender" with 1 D but that was already taken when it came time to get mail addresses. I laughed when I saw the comment though!

Oh, just a side note, this is now the longest post on the nissan BBS, it doesn't have the most views, mike's v8 post still has that, but when this went to 8 pages it became the longest (aka most posted). HA HA, mine is bigger than your is!!!!!!! /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

and I agree, one of those little dorm room fridges at least, better to get a real one though.

Hey, I like that idea... Then all we'd have to do is have a pair of fake legs on a creeper sticking out from underneath the truck and a tape recording of some wrenching, so when the wife walks or significant other walks in, it looks like were busy working and not in alternate room watching the Hockey game on the big screen TV? /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif
