Ok, since it was brought up in another post,
What does everybody do to pay for their trucks? (what is your job?)
And because I am interested, What are your qualifications? (what do you have for education?)

I am a Applications Specialist for Applied Bolting Technology That means that I deal with the non standard applications of our product (standard application is in structural steel, bridges, power plants, highrise buildings, sports stadiums, etc.). I deal with truck companies, Home Depot and a few other interesting applications.

I deal with all of the Mechanical projects, which is good because I have an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (which means that I understand how to build hydraulic steering, and 3,4,5,and 6 bar linkages that work!).

So what about all the rest of you?

You know, I have had this question on my mind ever since I started coming to this board!

I myself am just a lowly graphic designer, and I work for a county newspaper. So much of the stuff you guys talk about around here, are just right over my head! /wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif I'm also only 24, so I don't exactly have the cash flow to do some of these mods that all you guys talk about! *lol*
I just read your posts, nod my head about suspension lifts, and oxygen sensors, and transmissions,
and a whole lot of stuff you all talk about!

So, I am very curious to know what you all do out there! /wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif

I have been wondering this myself. I'm an operator of a high octane unit in an oil refinery here in Tennessee. We have made as high as 105 octane and can go higher than that. How high you ask? Well we really don't know yet. This is a new unit and the high octane market fell on it's ass lately so we haven't cranked it up to see what we can do. We blend the high octane with lower octane gas from other units in the plant to get the various gasolines you can buy at the pump. Sorry, I can't do anything about the prices except suffer along with the rest of you.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I wasn't saying that because I am young, I have no money.
The point I was trying to make was that I am just getting started in my career, and my money is being spent on other things, such as food and rent, and keeping my truck gased up,
and the ocassional spending of some toys!
Plus I'm not good at investing my money, I just want to spend it as soon as the check is cashed! *lol*

I am currently a full-student and un-employed. I guess I am just independently wealthy - LOL. My last job was a department head at a major amusement park here in California (~200 employees in my department that I was responsible for including scheduling). As for schooling, I have been in for 8 years and 3 majors (Pre-med, molecular genetics and now business admistration - weird but true). I should be finished this year. BTW, I always assumed I was the youngest on the board at 26. I guess not.

I'm glad someone asked it 'cause I was curious too. Currently I'm a student at Virginia Tech studying Mechanical Engineering. I just got back into school after taking a year and half off and working in D.C. for 8 months for an engineering firm doing contract work for the Navy and then the rest of the time in NC designing a database for a contract packing company. Boring stuff. Oh, and I'm 23. Probaly more then you guys wanted to know!

I work in Airfreight I'm the idiot that works all night long Tuesday thru Saturday. Good part is I don't do much work so I surf the net or sleep at night.
Basically if you needed something today we could do it for a price of course. our main customers are Caterpillar dealers.(Big ugly yellow equipment) If you wanted something shipped I could tell you how to do it for the time/price you want. My boss does not like much when we ship stuff for our selves because he doesn't get money. so just to piss him off, I'm working with Devinchi on shipping an axle to him so I quoted $00.01 pre pound over cost.
I've been working here for almost five years I started out as a driver but do to a few traffic tickets I got promoted to being stuck behind this computer all night.
Oh and I never did the collage thing I cant sit in a class to boring. barley made thru high school. and I'm only 23

Finaly! Someone older than me. At 30 I was starting to feel like I should be in a nursing board, not a Nissan board. Anyway I am a Appliance installer. I deliver and install Ranges Refridgerators etc. in mostly new homes. I am going to school because I am tired of being a grunt. (at least I am head grunt) I figure I am looking toward real estate. I want to be loaded.

Man, I'm glad I'm not the only 30-something (well almost, 3 more months) here. Actually I didn't realize we had a bunch of young punk kids on the board. /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif I have two jobs, full time bum and full time student. I go to DeVry here in Phoenix working on my BS (we all know what that is) in CIS (Computer Information Systems). Other then that I spend way to much time on this board with all you youngins.

BS?? sadly I don't (I am an indian /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif)...

To be more exotic Thanatoz, change your motto to:

"Es una cosa del JEEP, yo no lo entenderia, pero me importa una reverenda mierda"

Which is the same but in Spanish...Aloha

I am 24, married with a kid due anytime. I attend Utah State University at night majoring in business. In another year or so I will specilize into either agribusiness or business management. I work on my families Sod farm as a Production Manager and ramrodding migrant workers. The best part of my job is I have mud on the road year round and we ride 4-wheelers alot. Other hobbies include hunting, snowboarding, snowmobiling, fishing.

I had changed it for a few posts when we were calling Chris funny names in foreign languages. But this is what I had, did I get it wrong?

Su una cosa del JEEP, no entenderĂa que ella... y yo no damos una MIERDA!

Whats the diffrence between that and

Es una cosa del JEEP, yo no lo entenderia, pero me importa una reverenda mierda

Hell, what don't I do for a living? Well, lets see, I used to creep around in bush suits, I wrenched for three years, drove for two, now I weld and fabricate (Damn, this resume sucks!). I am currently a full-time student pursuing a(some) B.S., and work full-time for a custom-fab shop specializing in stainless steel and other exotics (Aluminum alloys, titanium, etc.) Schooling? Well other than the priceless education Uncle Sam gave me, I have an A.S. in welding technology, an AA in liberal arts (worthless), plus my my A.S.E. certs (technician). Not quite thirty yet, but gettin there (then I'll check into a Geriatric ward:-}.

WORKNOT (oops, I mean MILDOT)

Thanatoz, my version IS good spelled, yours got the idea but it is wrong on some verbs and pronouns. Mine is the correct one I'l tell ya, I am the one born in a Spanish talking land /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif, the only thing I added is "reverenda" which means "holy", like saying Holy S**t right ? CHANGE IT !!! /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

Well, I've been monitering this post, waiting for someone older than me to contribute. Hasn't happened yet. Oh well. I'm 42 and not married (my money is all mine). I work as a computer programmer for a large health care organization (KP) here in California. BS in Business/Computer Information Systems. Been at this job for about 10 years, before that I worked as a Tool and Cutter Grinder, Landscaper and the Navy.

Not yet a geezer, but getting close.

Damn I thought you were one of the younger ones. I figured you to be about 19 or 20. So what does everyone think Chris' age will be? Now we all know he will lie so even after he replies just keep guessing. Until that canadian posts his driver's license he will not be taken honestly. Lets see what type of link he will come up with now. Just call me (Insta)Gator!!!!

Thank Gawd for Cool-edge-Andy... at 41 years I thought I was going to be the old poop of this board. Somehow I found myself in the I.T. dept. (Helpdesk) for the URS (Utah Retirement Systems for the un-educated) I guess you could say that I kind of became an office prodject. The idea being, could they take a person that was a complete computer illiterate (thats me) and place them in a situation where they have to work with the damn things (computers) all day and not have them go postal. They have explaianed what the big glowing box is that sits in front of me so I guess I am on my way. I went to college with a major in Graphic Design but that kind of all went down the pooper. Guess I didn't make too good of a student.
Pretty eclectic with hobbies but generally I like to do anything that involves drinking beer (except fishing... sorry!).
Their! Now arn't you sorry you asked!?

Well I'm in the younger catagory being approx a month younger than Thanatoz

I'm Married with 2 boys ( 7 and 5 ) and one on the way.. Due this Saturday.. ( 16th Sept 2000 )

I'm a qualified Electronics tech, 1 test away from being a qualified Mechanic And I'm studing Automotive Engineering..
Not bad for a high school drop-out who was voted most likely to end up in jail... hehe

I've spent most of my life travelling and 4 wheeling.. and I now work for the Federal Government as a technicain..
Workshop covers 835,000 Square Kms of the Australian Outback..

Fun Hey???

I gotta agree with Scott.. Fishing has got to be the most boring thing I've ever tried... Even Beer couldn't make me enjoy that one..

Cheers
