[Where's Bruce?]

I need a new full sized truck. Have always gotten by fine with a 1500 size but am doing considerably more offroading now and am wondering if a 2500 is a better choice. The new '17 Dodge Power Wagon caught my eye. I currently drive a '99 Ram Quad cab, had it for 15 years, zero problems but it's a 2X4 and not up to the trips I'll be taking in the future. Slick mud, rocky and steep backcountry roads, snow, etc.











What are the reasons for selecting a 1500 over a 2500 from an offroader's perspective? Fuel, purchase and other costs are nonissues.
