Been working on the CJ for the last two or so months. It all started with a new exhaust system. Well still no new exhaust, but in the process i have done some other things. When i pulled the steering shaft and drivers side fender to drill a broken manifold bolt. I found my steering shaft was getting tired. About 2 years ago, i took three stock steering shafts and made one really tight one. Well it didnt last long. I was going to get a borgeson shaft, but i found something better.
I have enough parts to build more and ill put a post up on the F/S post.
Heres the pics.
Stock lower joint with new upper.
Stock upper with new lower and a borgenson joint and shaft.
Another shot of all three.
You can see how easy the shaft will move in and out and it will be much easier to remove if you have too. Everything is greasable, joints, and slider. The shaft is bigger then a stock front driveshaft. I dont think, ill ever where these out.
