The shifters in my 89' YJ had alot of slop, so I took them off and drilled and tapped 8 bolts into each one. Now they are solid! When I was un-screwing the shifter knobs, both pins sheared off inside the knobs. A $14 after market skull with lighted eyes made a suitable replacement, but now each shifter is 2" lower. The other shifter knob was also $14, it just bolted on better than the skull.

Seems to me you have twice as many bolts as you need. Two sides is all that should need them, not all four.

Check with the modelers, they have all the casting stuff, and it's pretyty reasonable. I'm going to do the same thing with the shifters in the Scrambler.

My dad has made salt water fishing lures like this for year, he uses old film cannisters as molds, then shapes them when they come out. They're awesome, he adds glitter into the clear base, eyes, and some come out looking better than storebought ones.

the metal I tapped into (the shifter) is thin and of poor quality. I had to put so many bolts into it to to keep it from stripping. The bolts are only hand tight. (One did strip and I had to re-tap it)
