SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII* t how many years ago was it when there were not many SPORT BIKES. Know there so many, the raptor, banshee, 400ex(nabe), z-400, kfx-400, polairs 500. And know a 700cc v-twin beast.... what the hell is going to keep up with that... and it the same price has a raptor.

 

Now that's one BIG UGLY machine! Bet it's fast though.

I don't see how people are gonna hang with this, where can you ride a bike that fast? If you rode it in the dunes you'd fly off one and kill yourself, it would be hard to ride in the woods you could never gun it, and it's too fat for narrow trails. Flat out in the desert would be cool but it seems like over kill on power. I can see alot of people getting killed or killing alot of peope with this bike.

 

Now that thing is the uglyist pile of dog sheeoot I've seen.
Shafts suck, chains all the way. And the auto may be good. I think people are sterotypical about them. A 400 polaris sport, you floor it and it screams. I don't get where you people come from saying there sh*t.

i cant see how its going to be dangerous..it cant be much if at all faster than a cannondale or predator..it weighs 508 dry so its pulling alot of weight with that power robbing tranny and shaft drive.....however i do think this is a great idea from kawasaki (even though i wouldnt get it) look how well the scramblers are doing...this is just a super scrambler basicly..all the people that want power without shifting or chain to bother them will be all overe this

yea...belt driven...then chain driven...chains drive the sprockets....belt drives the "gear"...98, im not gonna explain the whole 1 gear thing, cuz i garuntee u could explain it to me better than i could explain it to you. I do like the scramblers though....i'd rather have a 400 scrambler than that big beastly thing...ya know??

 

I've got a friend who got to ride one of these beasts this week. He's a dealer and went to the dealer meet in San Antonio where he rode it. This is what he said about it:

"Well, I RODE ONE yesterday at the Kawasaki Dealer Meeting in San Antonio. We won’t get our first KFX700 until next spring sometime but it was REALLY FUN! By the way, the KFX700 has automatic transmission and it’s very smooth. I could not tell when it was changing gears! It’s faster than the Raptor … has 47 HP out of the crate and I think will retail for $6499."

 

So is he saying it's a hydraulic tranny & not a belt drive?

 

i think moosedog fails to understand how a cvt works it doesnt "shift" it just constantly changes the gear ratio with pulleys and other mystical majic things

gta-i know scramblers are chain drive...but id deffinatly think this is in the same class as them, as in sport/automatic

nvm warrior...i meant it was belt driven....but it like wasn't shaft driven...it was chain driven...see what i mean? and even if this thing is faster than a raptor...i'd still rather have a raptor...look at that thing, it's enourmous....blah...

i dont think kawi was trying to compete with the raptor on this one i deffinatly see this as a shot at the scramblers

 

once again guys, this quad will be great for bigger fellas, just like the DS650.

 

Hey guys, newbie here. I personally am undecided on the 700. I like the displacement and the idea of a Vtwin. The shaft drive I think sucks. Try extending that swingarm!! The CVT tranny can be really good if it was done right. In drag racing there is no lost time due to shifting and your always in the right gear. Can be very FAST. I dont think the target is the Rappy or the DS, but indeed the Scrambler. If it has the power the weight isn't that big of a deal unless your wanting some serious air. I t will be a good quad for nig guys that arent man enough for the DS(had to throw in something LOL). Thats my .02
