Voice chat software would likely be too much of a strain on equipment at ORC, or at least eat up enough bandwidth that it wouldn't be particularly feasable. However, if you have ICQ (or even without icq but with some way to communicate with people first to get them your ip address to set up the speakfreely session), there is a very good voice chat program known as "Speak freely" available at http://www.speakfreely.org. As the name implies it's totally free. It can work through ICQ to avoid messing with IP addresses, or you can click the start button, click run, and type in "winipcfg" without the quote marks, and that will show you your ip address. The 7.1 version of speakfreely seems to support multiple parties talking at once... Might be a thought for those of you who want voice. Sorry about 2 posts here on this thread (/wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif but at least they might be useful to someone /wwwthreads_images/icons/laugh.gif)

Thanks for the comments guys. The only thing about this chat room is there's no password required. This means that any user can login with any name. I found that the company that hosts this chat room wants $500 to enable the password feature. Since I can't afford $500, the chat room will remain password-less. If someone else can suggest another company, I'll look into it.
I also found that the guaranteed capacity the chat room can handle is 10 users for simultaneous discussions.

I haven't checked into any voice software yet. I think this is fine for now. Maybe later, depending on what everyone wants to do, we can go to a ICQ type of interface.

another cool program for yall interested in talking is called Roger Wilco. you can download it free also at http://www.rogerwilco.com. several of my buddies and i use it while we are racing Nascar3 online and its pretty cool. just like racing radios!
