Just picked up a 1988 Samurai and don't know ANYTHING about them. It appears as if the 5 speed tranny is bad. The truck has had an engine swap to a 16 valve 1.6L engine. Hasn't been started since 2015 so I know I have some work ahead of me. My question right now is does the 1.3L and the 1.6L use the same 5 speed transmisson? I'll need to purchase a transmission rebuild kit and don't know which kit to get. Any help out there?
