I am going for the first time and I need some info. When are all the vendors there, we are planing on going March 22-25 I think that is the first weekend of the jamboree. Do we need to make reservations at a campground or is there open camping near the trails. I tried to get this info on the net , but I could not find it. Thanks

Good luck getting any reservations this late, that thing is a zoo with so many people. If you want to go to Moab and have fun, go some other time.

We were there the summer of 2000, and we stayed at a campground called the Moab Rim Campark. The old guy who ran it was very cool, it was a nice clean place with good hot showers, nice campsites, and not far from town.

The vendors usually start rolling in the first of the week (March 25th) and are fully set up about Tuesday or Wednesday (March 26-27) and wind down about Friday (March 29th) Most return Jeepers make their camp ground/motel reservations before they left last year so things could be slim now. The BLM has marked areas for primitive camping along the river and most back country areas near town, you can't camp just anywhere anymore.
