I put a T-18 in my 83 CJ-7, and while it's not the same as what you've done, maybe I can help. I used a shift boot from a Chevy with the 465 4 speed. I bought the boot and retaining ring from chevy, I think the part number was 378340 for the boot and 378351 for the retainer. The boot is slightly oval shaped at the base, and looks round at the top. I was able to bend the retainer to fit perfectly to the slight contours of the floor. I had just a slight overlap with my transfer boot, that would just depend on your setup. Oh, by the way I paid 16.80 for the boot and 6.65 for the retainer at the dealership
