I am looking for ideas from someone who has swapped an NV4500 into a YJ. What did you do for shift boots? I have been looking at a TJ console, the shifters are in the same configuration, but I haven measured it yet. What have you guys done for shift boots? I am planning on making a new tunnel cover with only the necessary holes in it, to help cover the big hole up. Any suggestions appreciated. Also, What size body lift, if any are you running?

Mine is a CJ-7, with the Dana 300, so it is a little bit different. But I used two of the ones for the t-case, and just reversed the direction on the one for the tranny, it fits perfectly. I did manufacture another cover from one with an automatic as it only had the cutout for the t-case.

I put a T-18 in my 83 CJ-7, and while it's not the same as what you've done, maybe I can help. I used a shift boot from a Chevy with the 465 4 speed. I bought the boot and retaining ring from chevy, I think the part number was 378340 for the boot and 378351 for the retainer. The boot is slightly oval shaped at the base, and looks round at the top. I was able to bend the retainer to fit perfectly to the slight contours of the floor. I had just a slight overlap with my transfer boot, that would just depend on your setup. Oh, by the way I paid 16.80 for the boot and 6.65 for the retainer at the dealership
