I'm using a tfi coil on my now running 5.0 wrangler and that's about what mine metered out to and I know it is a good coil because it was brand a brand new one I pirated off of my mustang. A quick test would be to ground the coil as if it were mounted and run a hot lead to the positive side. Hook up a coil wire and plug to the post, leaning the plug on the engine block. Use a jumper wire and make and break the ground. Evere time you break the ground you should get a spark.
