I thought that I was done for a while but now I am working on some timeing on the 350 chevy and came acrossed a part that I heard when trying to start it up,the noise was a clicking niose that was coming from a little box on the front passenger side fender. The box is aprox.2"x2"x1"thick. The box had 2 wires coming off it. When I did the swap I pluged the wires back in and thought nothing about it. What is this and do I need it? Would this box mess up the timeing or vacume on my 350? I would love to know what this box is. Thank you Aaron

Re: Need HELP on 151 to 350 swap what is this par

You gotta say where the wires go or something ..or get a camera and take a digital picture.

Let alone its Sunday morning. You should either be in church ...or recovering from Saturday night.

What happens if you just unplug the thing?

all you need to run your sbc is a +12v to the ignition, the +12v for the starter and the fuel line. Unless is a fuel injected engine, then I cant help you there, is more complicated. But again if is a carburator engine then, is an easy swap and the box your talking about shouldnt make any difference on your timing,.
