Could someone let me know for sure if a 76 CJ5 steering column is or would be the same length as a 78 CJ7 column?

I'm guessing they are, but not sure. I'm about to buy one from someone here and I need to make sure the 7 column isn't longer than a stock 5 column..

They are exactly the same. The column will bolt right in with no modification.
