Hey guys a few of the fellas have been talking about meeting up for some dinner and to prime us all up for the wheeling season. Usually we hit Hooters (I missed out last time) this time we've been mentioning an Appleby's or Chili's or something. Because I want to see Jimbo there(the young one not the PITA one

).

So folks whadaya say??? And when are you free?

sorry, map-quest strikes again with the crappy directions. Everyone ended up on Mill St. You guys were missed.

after asking for directions at the nearby mobil station and driving around for 45 minutes we tried tom's cellphone and discovered he and CTB had teamed up in the south end of spfld. they called the restaurant (novel idea) and found out it was way up at 5 town plaza at the intersection of parker and cooley sts. After some wrangling to get seats all together we were able to sit in the same area. The 87Zuke family (Jim, Bernie and 87zuke jr) zooky the bad direction giver, Tomkat and the whole daxe entourage.

We did miss you, but we talked about you while you were weren't there, so all was not lost.

pics shortly.

Well short of driving home and getting the cell phone and looking up the number on the web it wasn't going to happen.
I tried at the gas stations in the area, First no-speaki the english and the 2nd the guy had no idea and no listing in the phone book. we tried all the plaza's I could remember how to get to them but no luck. We missed everyone too and the wife was nice and pissed with me. great frigging day all around.

We also found out last night Alan is heading to Iraq when he gets back from training. (his unit has been called up)
(we hoped he would have some time home before being activated.) Sorry to be a downer.

[/ QUOTE ] Brent wanted to stop first but I didn't feel the need to stop in the area we were in. that's when he called.
Sorry to hear about Alan, Glenn. Audra has a close cousin in Fallujah, we talk about him once a day on average. I can imagine your concern.

guess its my fault but this is the info I got:

Alans deployment is something to be proud of but I can understand the concern. He will be the only one I know there so I'll keep him in my thoughts. I would imagine he is excited about it? I was deployed during Desert Storm and its a good feeling serving your country in that way. Do you know when he leaves and where he will be?

Make sure you Email us his addy over there or perhaps we could put together a monthly care package. I have a few friends over there and even though I think it is for a BS cause I support them 10000%

Let's do the care package thing...! ORC style!

the confusion, Randy, came when you told us there was a typo on the website and that "Mall St" (which is where it actually is) was supposed to be Mill St. As we discovered, it wasn't on Mill St at all. That's a correct map to 12 Mill St, but the restaurant isn't on Mill St. Mall St. is a brand new street and isn't on any of the mapping sites yet.

But onto more important matters, how long does Alan get to be here before he goes overseas? Is he going straight there from basic? That's pretty shocking news and we are all thinking about him and you two, too. I told Kim and she will call Sue in the AM.

Map quest said there was no 'Mall St.' I looked it up in 'smartpages.com' and they listed it at 'Mill St.' and map quest accepted it. I assumed it was a typo. It was my fault but 'smartpages' gave me the wrong address, I didnt just make up 'Mill St.' /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/givemebeer.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I am sure Alan will have some time before he goes, the government moves slow. Plans may change too. I have a friend that was told twice he was going and both times plans changed.

Glenn,

Ive never met you or allan. But i promise you this, hell be jus fine. My best friend is comin home in the next few days and he was gone for about a year and a half. Ive had several other friends go and come back.

I myself couldnt join cuz of my damn back. Defective from the factory is how i put it. So ive been the official home support group the past almost 2 years now.

Hes in my thoughts.

As we are both ex .mil we expected his deployment, just not this soon. He has good training (all the latest) so He should be fine, I think the thing that bugs me most is not being able to go. Not sure how much time he will have here before they go, he is due home end of the month after he finishes training. As for the resturant no worries. Next time.

I will email everyone once the time comes and he ships.

That look on Jim's face is complete ecstasy. You should have seen him with those ribs; I'm still shuddering. That's why we got seats so easy... people were fleeing from the section!/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
