on a sticker on the side of my new front hoop from smittybuilt it says 'this light bar does not provide crash or roll over protection'
but yet they are selling it as part of a ROLL CAGE KIT!!!
I know that its for liability reasons, but I still think its funny to have that warning on it.
also, I think I am going to go with only 3 spreader bars, 4 just seems to enclose you to much and takes away from an open top jeep.

Yeah, I posted about that when I got my Smitty too. A little disconcerting, but after you get that 1/8" thick steel tube wrapped around you ya feel much better about it.

MORE sells a kit for their cage that should work for the smitty too. I just made them myself 'cause I had to replace body mount brackets too.

If you have backseat passengers I also suggest giving them some protection. What I did was just cut off the supports and put some bent ones in, kind of on the order of an early 90s wrangler. It was easy and cheap. This pic was from a couple summers ago.

Thanks Brad! I've been thinking about how to add protection for the back seat and have a place to mount rear shoulder belts. I hadn't thought of removing/replacing the stock bar's supports like that. I like how it looks too.
