I went for a dip today and ended up dipping a bit more than planned. I hit a bog that seemed pretty shallow, but when I hit it, i just sank down. I had it in 4high being unaware of depth, so cranked to 4low, and seemed to have just sank. wasn't going anywhere, so popped back to 4 high, and pulled forward.. I kept trying to rock back and forth between 1st and reverse, and I got up to the end of the big, and I planted my oil pan on a mound in the middle, so I wasn't going anywhere. Little did I know I was on the mound, so I spun the tires some more, turning side to side, and finally, POP.. I look out, and my front tires aren't spinning. I said oh crap, thats not a good sign. right there I turned it off, and got on the phone. None of my friends were home, so I'm stuck in BFE. (I know stupid me to go alone, but I had the urge) I walked over to where they're building apartments, and one of the guys offered, didn't even have to ask. Got his duallie down there, hooked up, and yanked me out backwards after a few tugs. Amen for the tow hooks. After close examination on pavement, it was confirmed, broken CV joint. Said a quick prayer to the jeep Gods, and apologized to my Jeep. This happen to anyone else on a vehicle that's a month old? I wasn't even hard on it, i thought I was pretty darn gentle considering what I used to do to my 4runner. for now my buddy is 2wd only. the rut I got stuck in was from my friend and his 33's. Posted a few pics..

sorry, I buried my D30 pumpkin, and lodged mud up to the oil pan, and skid plate. I'm ordering my 4 inch lift ASAP. I'm gonna clean it as good as I can and take it back to the dealer, it's still under warranty. hope it works. I have the 33's in the garage, now all I need is Elusive to hook me up with those spacers so I can use my rims...:)

lol

If I ever get a TJ under warranty ill do that.

Put on 31's and wreck it, take it home clean it, stock tires on, and back to the dealership.

Wonder if it would work?

Do you think insurance will cover the carb if it some how "teleports" behind the tires of a 350 with dualies?

Listen, with those dinky tires, you'd better stay away from ALL mud (loose gravel and grassy yards, too!). As my pappy's fond of saying, "you couldn't pull a greasy string out of cats ass" with street rubber in the mud.
BTW, what color is it? Silver? It's a nice contrast to the black top. I like it.

Did the same thing about two weeks ago and led a load of newbies astray /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif
They said there was no mud on the site, so I went out to find some and got about 7 of us stuck... Great fun apart from the cleaning afterwards /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

Yes, I know about the tires. I have 33'' TSL's in the garage. It's only a month old so I haven't gotten to many mods yet, but my 30'' GSA'a do well actually, with the D44 in rear, and trac lock diff. The limiting factor that caught me up was my ground clearance. another 2 inches I would've pulled out. BTW, my TJ was in more than both of those black TJ's in those pics! The reason I didn't get out was because I was in 4high, because (i forgot to get to this earlier) 4 low wasn't engaging. That might have been anohter factor. Bring on the lift. Yes, that is the silverstone metallic. Thanks for replying

Hey just think if you had the 33's on there we wouldn't be able to tell what color the top was either!!! Looks good though!!

Too much throttle and popping the clutch makes your d35c snap at 11,500 miles

yeah! I know, I have all funds ready to go for the lift, but I'm waiting on word about those spacers to use my stock rims. I like the canyon's. Thanks

I wasn't bragging about the mud, just telling my stuck story and breakage story. How many other month old TJ's you see out on the trail breaking stuff, and having a lift on 1t at 1700 miles? I'm sure there's a couple, but I'm proud of my TJ, and I did actually drive down a dirt road, your correct

If I was actually bragging about mud, I would've taken pics of when I followed my friend in his YJ w/ 33'' boggers spraying on me in addition. everything was covered then, but I rubbed off where it said Jeep; for ****s and giggles. Mud is mud, the pride isn't from mud, it's from being able to get through it, is where pride comes from. Even though I got stuck ultimately, and broke something, I was suprised, it pulled itself all the way to the end in 4high, and stopping every so often. just a clearance issue. friends YJ with 33's had a hard time getting through it, so that alone left a huge grin on my face when I got that far. ah well, Jeep on!

Hey NeedsHelp,
No matter what some of the dudes may say here, at least you take your TJ out and use it! I have seen way too many TJs that don't get off road. I bet you even wave to us guys driving CJs /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif
