Well I installed the MSD ignition wires, so far so good. For those who wanted to know the part number for the wires, it is.... 31491.... says for Chevy Truck 305/350, '85-'95. These wires are the 8.5mm Super conductor wires. they come pre cut and all that good stuff. I dont really know how much I paid because I had to warrany out my ACdelco's that i returned and exchanged them for these, but I wanna say somewhere around 70/75 for them, I think I ended up paying about 50 for them just b/c my friend works at the auto parts store. In my opinion the stock wire separators were too close to the valve covers...so I bought the Moroso kit for like 10 bucks. works great, the wires are so thick that they pretty much bend to your liking anyway. I guess i'm done writing a story here, i'll get some pics up soon of everything. Now i'm itchin to do that cold air induction setup!

Hey, I just put the same wires on my '94 along with the MSD coil. I found out the hard way that you can't run the 8.5mm wires through the stock seperators. They just break off (maybe age has something to do with it too)

Where did you get them? The local Pep Dudes place only had 1 set of red ones by Mr Gasket when I went there yesterday.

p.s. I think the p/n is 31419. But that's just from my notes/wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif.

yeah, b/c the wires are much thicker than stock, the stock brackets dont work too well, the plastic clips get hot/cold/hot/cold and become so brittle that they just snap. the MOROSO separaters that I bought dont sit onto any mounts on the valve covers like the stock do, you dont need them, you just bend the wires away from the valve covers and then stick the separaters on and they will stay wherever you put them.

I bought the "Made For You" wire looms from Summit. They're kind of a bitch to put on cause you gotta hold all your wires in place while you're installing the the little nuts and bolts that hold the clamps together. Sort of a "wish you had another set of hands" type of deal. I like the way they look though and they keep everything tightly secured and organized. I'll try to get a pic of them installed.

Thanks mph/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif They're real simple. Never had any problems. Like I said, they're just a little tricky to put on cause you gotta hold a few things in place at the same time while you're installing them. Other than that, no problems/wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif

Can't speak for gmcjim, but my Goodyear Super HiMiler hoses look like that. Upper and lower radiator hose and my....um.....damn late nights...........the thingy that does your heating and is under the glove box.......it's hose is blue also. Cost like $60 from Summit. Goodyear makes specific kits for specific vehicles. Can't say if they make them for the older trucks though. The blue is a nice touch.

Yes, those are the Goodyear Hi Miler hoses. I bought the kit which replaced all my stock hoses. They're supposed to be much stronger and the papa smurf blue does add a nice touch/wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif

Frank: Summit shows kits in their catalogue for 84-87 and 88-94 applications but those are just the kits. They originally sold these hoses individually and I'd be surprised if they couldn't set you up with some that would fit your truck.

MSD makes some good stuff. Ive installed their vibration proof coil, distributor and MSD 6 Offroad combo in my truck, runs like a gazell. Gonna swap out the heads so I can get a bit more out of her...but I love their stuff. Anyone else running an MSD in a 350 that can fill me in on preferred plugs and gaps?

plugs...you can run some Auto Lites or Delcos, but i don't think you can run anything other than regular plugs with an ignition box.. (i'm running NGK plugs - no ign. box though)

as far as gaps, start at .045 and work up but .05 intervals...it'll take some testing and patience, but you'll find the maximum gap and efficiency that you can run on your truck.
