Ive bent the 7.5" axle for the last time on my 94. Im installing a Tundra rear axle which is 8.75" wider total. I was thinking that the shocks are gonna be much farther from the center of the tire theryby being less effective.

Im gonna wait till the axle is in the truck to measure the clearances. My only hesitation is if the tire would hit the shock if the axle articulated on one side.

Cleartoy,
IMHO mounting the shocks outboard is not a good idea. Better way would be to fab up some new shock mounts and keep those shocks in board. One good off camber woop and a tire can hit a shock. (even with lots of clearance, we still get tire rub on the rear rails - some serious morement) The Tundra rear is only 4" +/- wider per side, so I doublt it will have much effect on dampening, just be sure to keep the shocks as vertical as possible (but you knew that)
BTW - would also be a good idea to truss that Tundra rear. A top, bottom, and back brace. Toyota diff housings are only .188 stamped steel. And they will bend. And since you do jump it, trussing is a must.
When are you going to come out to the races? We are running the MORE Freedom 250 in Barstow on the 24th - nite race. And we are running an old 84 4x4 truck - the SA kind.

Thats good info on the thickness of the housing. I will deffinitely truss it.

Is your race gonna start off Outlet Center Dr, or Wild Wash?

What does MORE stand for? I saw a pic of your truck in Off Road mag and Off Road Advertiser awhile back.
