I am moving my 225 over to my new frame and found that the drivers side motor mount does not fit snuggly like the passenger side. My 225 is from a 68 with Ross and the new frame had stock saginaw and the other motor mount frame bracket. I got new motor mounts (for a 79 Skylark with a 231) but they are the same as the ones on there now. I took a couple pics to show the problem. Is there a particular motor mount for 70-71 Jeepsters with saginaw?

Just wanted to bump this back to the top. Can someone with a 70 or 71 Jeepster with stock saginaw take a picture of the drivers side motor mount so I can get an idea what that spacer looks like and try to come up with something to fit into that space. Thanks,

Thanks Lee,

I guess I should have asked before, is that a rubber or metal spacer. I can't tell from the pic.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

I recently put a 225 back in my '71. I noticed the same problem. I had a buddy cut a spacer for me from a steel tube. It has worked well for some time now.
