i have a k&n air filter with the air box lid off and a dyno jet 142 main jet and a yoshi slip on. on my z400 what other mods or adjustments can i do to make more power cheap? 150.00 or less.im not real worried about top end speed. just low & midrange.

If you're not worried about top end speed, drop 1 or even 2 teeth on the front sprocket, that should really boost the power at lower rpm's, you would probably lose about 5 mph top speed, for each tooth smaller you go up front. Sprockets should be $30 or less I would think, and since you already have most of the common cheap mods, I think gearing might be about all that's left for under $150.

yup I would drop one tooth on the front, or add 2 teeth on the rear....thats a real cheap way, the quad will really haul ass, I likes it better when my 300 was like that, went through the gears quick but what a rush

or save up some more mulla....get a HMF pipe, they are real nice for the Z/KFX/DVX

whatever your choice its all good

i found a big gun rev limmiter on rocky mountain atv but its $233.00 i might buy one in the spring. has any body ever used one and are they worth the money? by the way i went riding today and i love the new sproket it pulls alot harder thru the gears and i didnt notice any loss of topend. thanks again.

Glad you are happy with the sprocket change. I never really notice the drop in top speed on my R when I gear it down for the trails and either, only thing I really do notice is it pulls harder to the top of 6th gear on long uphill fire roads that I always was having to run in 5th gear with the higher gearing, and it's easier for me to lug the 2 stroke down to find traction on a tough hillclimb without stalling. Normally I keep my R geared for 67 1/2mph (checked with GPS), and for most of the trails I ride on I don't have enough room to get topped out anyways, so it's fast enough.
