Really confused now. I found a company on the web that claims to be a specialty Jeep parts shop. On their website they mentioned that they have a large selection of used axles that they have reworked. I thought, what the hell, I'll call them and see how expensive it might be. I asked for D30 front, D44 rear wide track out of a CJ. From my understanding these would be a direct bolt on for a '67 Jeepster. The guy on the other end said that they would have to be custom made for a couple grand each. I tried to get him to explain why and he said it was because of the differential offset. I explained that I had talked to other folk who said it was a direct bolt in, but he wouldn't budge, said they would have to be new custom axles.
Am I off my rocker? Is this guy just trying to get me to buy new axles, or does he not really know what he is talking about?
Sorry to beat this axle discussion like a dead horse, but I am really confused.
Thanks,
Paul
