They feel a little small to me (I'm 6'tall and feel like my knees are going to hit the handle bars), kind of like the blaster, and from all the old shootouts I've read, they are compairable to a stock blaster powerwise. Usually the 300ex out handled it in the shootouts, and the 250x handles better than the 300ex, so I'd have to guess the 250x would be a slightly better quad on the trail. But if all you want is a good trail ride, the Mojave should be ok. Parts to mod the Mojave are fairly hard to find compaired to parts for the Yamaha's and Honda's, but I have heard a few people make exhaust systems and front A-arms for them. I've never seen anybody advertise any engine kits like bigbores or stroker kits for the Mojave, so you might have to get together with a local builder and get creative if you really want to make it fly. For a long time, the Mojave had the most advanced engine available in a sportquad, being a watercooled 4 stroke. Good Luck.

Yeah you don't need anything too fast for strictly a loaner bike/quad anyways. A Mojave should work great for that, just fast and exciting enough to get them hooked enough on riding to go out and buy their own quads and leave your's alone.
