Does anyone know who makes lower gear sets for a model 20 transfer case in a '79 cj5 other that Teraflex? I would really like to go to a 4:1 ratio if I'm going to spend the money. Any help would be appreciated.

a recently read about a company called Obrian they make a 4.86 gear set for the model 20 but it requires miloling of the case.

they have other kits like between 3:1 and 4:1 also
they are pricier than terra from what Ive read.

they make a 3.1 and a 3.6 for the Jeep 20. and 4.1 and 4.86 for the spicer 18 and bronco D20.

according to a post on the Pirate BBS at least.

If you're on a tight budget, why don't you just do the 2.46 conversion using the dana 18/bronco 20 gears. That's a 25% beter that stock. I've done this conversion before and it's not too tough!

Or for less than the cost of the tera kit you can find a Scout dana 300 (2.62 low), that's 30% better. Plus with the scout 300 you can get a true 4:1 kit later on.

Aww, C'mon, those don't exist. You'd have a better time finding hen's teeth or horsefeathers than you would a Scout D300.
