What do i need to convert to power steering on my 72 cj5. What parts can i get from the junkyard? Any experience doing this would be greatly appreciated. Thanx Kenny

I was going to do this to my 72 until I decided to go nuts on it. A friend of mine who knows a lot about Jeeps and whom I trust told me that parts from a power steering equipted Cj will bolt right on. Instead I elected to build a full tube chassis and hopefully run hydralic steering/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

You'll have to box the driver's front corner of the frame for a place to mount a saginaw box, I'm not sure about 5s but I know on flatfenders unless you do it just right you'll have torch your crossmember. Advance Adapters make a great kit to do this. It includes frame enclosure plates, steering shaft, drag link, tie rod and all sorts of good stuff. Even a manual saginaw box is a great improvement over stock, and power is even better. Best of luck
