Lowering 4\" Lift Springs?

I've found a pretty good deal on some Trailmaster 4" leaf springs for my CJ-7 and was wondering if I could lower them by removing a middle leaf. Would this be a good idea? I really only need 2-3 inches of lift and don't really want to spend the $$ on the other things needed for a 4" lift, ie. brake lines, drop pitman arm, xfer case lowering, shims, etc. I figured I could put 2-2.5 inches of lift and new shocks w/out having to change much else, maybe lower the brakeline mounting points. Any opinions on this?
thanks for any advice,

Yes you can. But, the wisdom of doing it may depend on the brand. If they are Ranchos or Pro-Comps, then IMO go for it. But,
if they are a softride type spring, you may not want to go that route. Removing a leaf will soften the ride and lower the ride about
an inch or so.
