Re: Love Zuk\'s but..............

Danny L. There was a Mog for sale here in Goldsboro N.C. I can't remember how much he wanted for it, but it was BAD ARSE!!! It was painted like a military truck and said FROG MOG on the license plate, thought it was cool! It also had IRAC flag's on the side like a jet would when he kills one in the air! I was going to take a pic of it but it was sold by the time I could get to it. Nice vehicle's.

Re: Love Zuk\'s but..............

sure... an unimog is waaaay cooool...

but honestly... isnt it a bit boring to drive a vehicle that came nearly perfect (for off-roading) from the factory?

what would be your first upgrade?

its already locked, got huge tires, got a stock crawler-box, no need for a snorkel,

... boy i think i need to kill myself now ;oP

Re: Love Zuk\'s but..............

I have a friend that has 2 older Mogs (early to mid 50's), with the 63" wheelbase and 35" tires. Yep, not a lot of room there for anything else. They both have the 4 cyl diesels and crawling gears the likes of which we can only dream. They have portal axles and winches on the front. After wheeling with him numerous times I can honestly say THEY SUCK! Well, at least his do, and it's not the driver. They have little to no flex, and barely enough hp to spin the terra-tread tires with any momentum. Sure, with over 1,000:1, they'll move, but they get gummed up and are not able to clear. I wouldn't mind the larger ones though.

Re: Love Zuk\'s but..............

at the local mud hole (the one that ate bbytrkr), someone has a Mog for playing in, ive never seen it get stuck, sometimes it goes slow enough so it looks like it is, but it just keeps going.. ive always loved them personally, but ur right, they are beefy as hell, but have no flex whatsoever, they almost would be better off without the suspension.. lol.. save on cost.

Re: Love Zuk\'s but..............

The tires are turned backwards for steering purposes. They work better that way. I had tractor treads on a bmx once and i didnt invert the front one, it slid out anytime i hit mud. I inverted like that and presto, no more sliding out.

Re: Love Zuk\'s but..............

Here you go DannyL. If'n you like the Mog you should like the Goat. There's a few of us around that know what this is (RangerRick). Used in the US military up until the late 70's was called a Gama Goat; all Aluminum body, 6 wheel drive, amphibious, power by 6V53 Detriot Diesel and had a 4 speed manual trans. (Would go any where but was hell to get in and out of)I've never seen one in the civilian world but I sure there one out there somewhere. Re: Love Zuk\'s but..............

My landlord buys and sells Military vehicles, like the ferret, and unimogs. He buys them from european countries (not sure which) and restores them, then sells them. He has had everything from Ferrets, 6X6 personel carriers, to full blown tanks!

His Ferret is liscenced for the street. You should see the peoples faces at drivethroughs when he comes to the window, its priceless. Has the fake .50 on top too! Not very fast, kinda rough riding, but it would be cool just knowing your bulletproof!
