Okay heres the story among the other projects I have been working on, I replaced the shifter pin(sloppy shifter fix). Apparently I screwed something up because I have no first gear. Does anyone have any idea what I did now? Did I maybe put it back in wrong? How can I fix this aaahhhhhhh! Thanks...mike

Mike,

When you replaced the shifter bolt did you find all of the pieces to the old one? Sometimes the broken off piece can get down into the tranny and cause you some problems. Is there any chance that a piece of the bolt is keeping your transmission from going into first gear? Just a thought.

I assume that the rear driveshaft worked out for you.

first off: The driveshaft worked fine...thanks!!! Secondly...I found one piece and it appeared to be the only piece possible to be broken off. Third...it feels like third and fifth might not be attainable either. Heres one thing I thought looked odd. When I was putting it back togrther and I put the new plastic(teflon) bushing back on I noticed a metal washer, gasket looking thing above it. Noy knowing i left it there...could this be the problem? Tomorrow I'm going to rip it apart again and take a look...i had enough fun for today. mike basically i'm baffled
