Looking to chit chat with someone who has a 2000 or newer Chevy Tahoe or Silvarado. Just purchased a 02 Tahoe, fully loaded, and I'm looking to put some minor appearance and performance mods on it.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Minor appearance mods? I'd say go with exhast first, then maybe a billet grill. Maybe wheels / tires?

What are you trying ot accomplish with this truck?

By minor I mean I want to keep it looking clean. Need it to fit in my garage. The <nobr>truck</nobr> is immaculate now and I don't want to over do it. I can appreciate a car loaded with aftermarket mods, plastic molded everywhich way and 7 millions watts of stereo equipment but it's just not my style. I like clean, smooth and fun.

-I'm def interested in the billet inserts for the grill. I've checked them out on ebay.

-Some aftermarket lights would be nice. I've seen lights installed/molded into the roof rack which looked great.

- Suggestions on grill gaurds and or rear tail light protectors.

-I'm looking for the biggest tires that will fit on my stock rims. Something as meaty as I can get.

-I can get exhaust done for around $250.00. Split dual from the cat, not too loud, give it a nice rumble. Ideas?

- And any other "tricks of the trade" that tahoe owners have done. Example - air intakes, computer chips or anything else.

In my opinion... don't waste money on tail light guards. Tail lights are not that much to replace... and in the event that there was an impact in that area, I would think the guards would cause more damage vs. preventing it. Besides, they look pretty cheesy to me. That's just my opinion anyway.

From what I hear (I have not tried it) 285/75/16's should fit under the stock suspension... BUT that's WITH the stock rims. Change the rims and that no longer appllies.

If you want to trim your fenders a bit, it will fit on stock suspension with aftermarket rims... I have 285's on 16x8 rims and it fit stock on my suspension.. Trimmed about an inch in the front. I am going bigger tires this summer, and I should be able to get away with it on stock suspension.

Get the exhaust done with a 50 series flowmaster if you want to hear it, 70 series if you don't want ot hear as much.
