i took mine to the local uphostry joint... he sewed a couple torn seams and patched a hole for $15 while I waited... and it was pouring rain that day....
You can goto Wally World and get an iron on paatch and cut it to fit the rip and iron it on, holds real good. You could add some RTV or scotchgaurd to try and seal it. It cost about $2 for two patches that are pretty good size.
Bestop says to use an iron on patch called Bondex I believe. I found them at Wallyworld too. I patched a couple of small holes in my soft top and they have held up great, no leaks at all. Cutting them round gets rid of the corners that may try peal up.
