The 1980 - 1982 Jeep 4 cylinder (Iron Duke) was a GM engine. The bellhousing from a Jeep Iron Duke 4 cylinder has the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the Small Block Chevy. The NP 435 and T-18 can be bolted to the 1980 - 82 Jeep 4 cylinder bellhousing. The Jeep Iron Duke 4 cylinder bellhousing will allow the use of the Camaro 10.4" clutch. The Jeep Iron Duke 4 cylinder bellhousing used a hydraulic clutch, with the slave cylinder bolting to the bellhousing.

Just wanted to add some additional information about the Jeep Iron Duke bellhousing. The 10.4" Camaro clutch is smaller than the 11" clutch used in GM pickups. The holes for the T-18 / NP-435 need to be drilled and tapped into the Iron Duke bellhousing. The Iron Duke bellhousing has extra casting in the bellhousing where the holes need to be drilled and tapped. The Iron Duke bellhousing requires the smaller 153 tooth Small Block Chevy flywheel and will not allow the use of the pickup high-torque starter that the usual 168 tooth flywheel used in most pickups. For a mild 4.3 Chevy V6 the 10.4" car type clutch is OK. For a mild built 350 Chevy, the 10.4 clutch is weak/wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif. I also have an extra Iron Duke bellhousing I'd be gald to sell cheap, I needed an 11 clutch and high-torque starter.

With my SBC conversion for my 80 CJ5 I used bolt in motor mounts from M.O.R.E. http://www.mountainoffroad.com/catalog/BombProof MM/bombproof.htm . I'm using an AMC 304 V8 4 core radiator that had the inlet / outlet modified for a GM engine and an electric fan. I using over the fender Hooker Headers and glass packs for an exhaust system. I had to cut the inner fenders to use the over the fender Hooker Headers.
