Does anyone else think this looks stupid, its a 2.5" lift. Needs full width axles and boggers...

i like it, but then i like anything thats is ot the norm.. last time out, i went wheeling with 2 grand cherokees and a land rover. these guys are different than the normal crowd i usually wheel with, but they were perfectly accepting to wheel with my cj and my wifes tj.. they were very cool guys and we ended up sawapping sea stories late into the night. I hope that the liberty ends up with an 8" lift that holds 38's with no other mods and it embarrasses cj's off road...perhaps more people will take them off road then... increaing our sport.. gathering momentum for new trails and making the world a better place. such a nice dream....

You know....

If you look at the CJ, it probably has MORE MODIFICATIONS from stock available than any other vehicle.

If we wanted a wheeler right out of the box, we would buy something other than a Jeep. All GOOD wheelin vehicles NEED modification.

Someone will do a solid axle swap on the KJ, with a nice 4.5 inch lift, and then you will see more and more on the trail.

Granted the KJ is ready for the street more than the trail more-so than other Jeeps, but mark my words... someone will modify it.

FYI. There was a KJ with boggers at the Mopar exhibit for the woodward cruise. It had a HUGE mural of the american flag in it. It looked pretty cool.

Maybe people buying TJ's for street use as an entry level ($20-25K) will be swayed more toward the KJ, and it will free up the TJ for more "rugged" duty, perhaps locker in rear, and limited slip in fron from the factory?

You never know. I sure would have liked to see the XJ stay though. It is really starting to get accepted on the trail as a very capable vehicle (again, with modification).

Looks normal now.

Remember, no one thought the XJ would be worth anything with the unibody, but look at how well they go with a little lift.

Give it time, people will be building them and wheeling them soon.

It was an awesome time as usual. I saw a TON of jeeps out there. I would say behind the popular muscle cars, (mustang, chevelle, etc.)short wheelbase Jeeps were the most popular rides.

I saw a few with mega-lift. It was cool.

www.rocky-road.com also sells 2.5" lifts, they say they can clear 32.5" tries (probably most 33's) w/ no problem. The lifts are also really cheep. Rusty's kits are $159, Rock road's are $209. This may insprie people to lift them. I heard some where that a 5" lift is in the works for the KJ and rusty already sells skid plates for them. I definetally think the jeep in the pic needs some black wheels and maybe some new bfg km's.

I guess it was inevitable, but I didn't think it would be this quick - Trail Ready is already making winch bumpers and a solid-axle conversion using the D30.

Who needs a road...if there's a perfectly good JEEP trail somewhere else!?

You could probably rip all that plastic off and gain a lot of wheel well room for some big mudders... And someone could come up with a more rugged looking trim kit.
