If you are referring to the competition put on by that Rock Crawling Assoc., is it still gonna happen. Last I heard a month or 2 ago, they couldn't get a permit.

That's exactly what I was referring to. The schedule was published in this months Four Wheeler....
As there's no snow in NM right now, I'm looking at going to them for at least a day ... I'm staying in Taos, so it's only about 40 miles away. Too close to pass up! of course, I'll be in a rented Explorer or something, so will just watch... /wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif
The lead time in those mags is months, you might want to make sure it is still going to happen. Like I said, they were having trouble with a permit and there was some feuding among the principles as well.

Last I heard a couple days ago it was not going to happen. Check with Mepco Jeep, as the same people that run that company started the ARCA. Their number is 801-561-3299 and ask for Ranch. He is the head of the ARCA. To my knowlege the next one is going to be the Pheonix one.
YJ94 Just an FYI - Las Cruces is about 350 miles from Taos. Maybe you were thinking of Los Alamos? Not that it matters though since I see the event has been canceled.
Yeah, a wild goose chase is just the start. Las Cruces is close to where I-10 and I-25 intersect in the southern most part of NM. It's not far at all from El Paso (50 miles or so) and Mexico.
