I have to beg to differ... I would pit a Hummer Against that thing anyday off-road!!! Anyday... I am in the army reserve.. and those hummers are quite awesome offroad.. (its nice to know that you have an 8wd Wrecker or a 10wd Cargo (YES 10!) to pull you out too) IMHO... Hummer Better than Lambrogini.....

Hey steve, have you ever gotten to drive one of those OshKosh HEMTT trucks? If I owned exxon and my own roadways I'd have one!

If you don't know what I'm talking about then here's a pic:

I mostly drive a PLS M1074 16 Ton 10x10 Cargo truck. (PLS = Palletized Loading System) I am
in a Field Artillery unit and use these trucks to deliver the 155MM Ammo

This truck is BAD!!! Big 500HP Detroit Diesel, 10 wheel drive CTIS (Central Tire inflation system)
When you put in into "EMERGENCY" Mode, it locks up everything... meaning 10 WHEEL POSI!!!
I have never gotten stuck and I was in 4 feet of muck once.... The front 2 axles steer and the 5th
axle counter-steers...

Included are a few pictures from OSHKOSHTRUCK.COM

Re: Hemett

No, I was never licensed on a Hemett./wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif The units I was with didn't have their own, so there were no Hemett drivers in them. HMMWV's, M151 Jeeps, Deuce&aHalf's, 5-Tons, all the variants of the M113 APC chassis, Bradley, and probably a few others I'm forgetting. I've seen every kind of vehicle stuck except an M1 tank/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif and a 5-Ton truck, but I know they've been stuck, too. My brother's driver sunk an M901 Improved TOW Vehicle so deep in a bog, he could step off the deck onto the ground. A bad driver can stick anything./wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif

Yeah, I think that 1074 you posted and that HEMTT I posted are definitely brothers. Basically yours has an extra axle. I think both rear axles on the HEMTT counter steer.

Muddy,

I drove a M977 which is an 8x8 Hemmit cargo in Germany from 87-89 when I was with the Patroit Missle system... and Yes they are brothers... The Hemmits have regular axles in the back just like a regular rig and the 2 front axles steer. The is really no need to counter steer.. though it would have been nice.. 1/2 the time you just drove over what got in your way... HAHAHA

Nice trucks...

Hahah, that's the way to do it. Today there was a big slow down on the interstate because some branches were in the right lane. All these cars and trucks were dodging them to either side and I went right over them and never looked back. I'm sure everybody around me thought I was crazy but they just wouldn't understand the need to run over things.

MuddyBronco,
I just made the same move...weren't those kids??!? (lol}
Nah, I was just driving down San Pedro (a big street in San Ntone, 4 those that don't know)...and These kids were playing in the street....as I was coming down the street (it's really fun to watch joggers)....these kids were grabbing the ball, etc, so that they wouldn't run in front of me....anyways, as I'm driving down the street at Wheatley courts (don't drive there in Say Town unless you are pissed off), some kid tried to push his other friend under my tire. It was rather uneventful...(if you can imagine)

P.s. ...Don't ever try friend physics vs venture physics.
