What are the known problems with the 1988 2.9l engine. I'm looking at a 1988 Ford Ranger with this engine and an automatic transmission with a Western plow. Planning to use it for my private drive, about a 1/2 mile dirt drive. I need a reliable unit to replace my failing unit.
