So would that make them a KAzer-Fraiser?
I don't know who that "someone" is but it must be the same guy that's correcting me all the time with mis-information.

unfortunately i am old enough to remember the cars running around in the early 50s. ugly ones they were. the company was then called kaiser/fraser. {kiser/frasur} the jeep was the only thing they built that was good looking! i don't mean to be correcting anybody if you are talking about me just old enough to remember. wish i was younger though. i can't imagine what the weather is like up in canada, too cold here this winter and too much ice!

Kay-ser or KI-zer?
Easy to remember if you think GAY-ser or GUY-zer.

Yeah, actually we got into a discussion about this on a CJ board. Just stirring the pot. The result was that both are acceptable. Apparently plant workers actually used both. There's one website that says Mr. Willys pronounced it Willeez, and another that says he pronounced it Willis. I'm gonna keep saying Willeez.

it had to happen! i was traveling back home about 20 miles away from home and i spotted something green in a backyard. yep it was about a 54 kaiser {kiser} car! nice shape but like all of them, UGLY! i knew i would see one after the discussion on this! don't see too many anymore but there are a few around this area. a fruend of mine had a barn burn last year and burned up 2 of them and a nice old 52 dodge truck. next i will surely see a fraser now. even uglier.

Incommando: pronounced KISER, just like the Kaiser health plan,(Joe Kaiser began it for his employees, still going!)

Joetimberman:
Original70: Spelled FRAZER, Kaiser and Frazer are separate makes from the same company, often used as one word, as in Lincoln-Mercury dealer.

Bobcatsteve: Correct pronunciation is Willis, but hardly anyone uses that any more, usually Willees.

If anyone is interested, the K-F National Convention will be in Auburn Indiana, July 18-23

i am interested in the kaiser/frazer convention pretty clost to me. now i am confused on the pronounciation of willys. is willis like will-lis. my dad had a 40 willys before i was born and he always called it a will-lees and i always have heard it called that for 50 years. could be will-lis i guess. everything i ever heard pronounced in my life has now changed. i always heard of having ann GI na chest pain and now they prounounce it ANN gi na and i used to hear of care uh bee un cruise now it is a ku rib bee un cruise so everything seems to be changing now. maybe in this hillbilly place i grew up it was always wrong huh?! all i know for sure is that jeepster is the greatest vehicle ever and jeeps in general are the greatest vehicles in the world. i would not be prejudiced would i?! and this is a great forum too!
