That's a 2.3 Ford with EFI and a 4 speed tranny. I don't know a whole lot about it (sworn to secrecy).... but I know he did it all himself, and that thing will go anywhere it wants. Pretty impressive..... almost as good as a JEEP.

Relax everybody.... just kidding..

WOO HOO!!! That was him!! That pic actually made it into Petersen's 4wd mag. I couldn't talk to him for months after that.....

He always has to have a manual tranny. It's his "thing". He no longer works at the Ford dealership, but you are right - that 'zuki HAULS!!!

btw.... any chance of getting a copy of the video??

Everyone is always looking for the ideal engine swap - look at how well that 2.3L can fit in the Samurai engine bay. Drew, you & your brother should seriously look into producing a swap kit. Those motors are powerful, plentiful and economical.

If you could work out the wiring for EFI & make the rest bolt-in, I think you would sell more than you could produce!

I really think a swap "kit" is out of the question. Unless you were interested in something like the "LIGHTNING" conversions. It's pretty intense. I was only around for parts of it, and believe me, the boy pulled some hair out getting it together. The really kewl thing is that from the transfer case back, everything is in it's stock location. The interior is completely stock, and without popping the hood you would think it's completely stock sammi ('cept it's lifted - and passing you!!).

It's a pretty sweet ride.....
