While visiting my local Pick-A-Part junkyard yesterday looking for parts for my Jeep Tug (a 77 Dodge Motorhome) I noticed that most the Dodge 200 and 300 vans used a dual cylinder V-type air conditioning compressor. It looks shorter than the York and looks to have it's own oil resevoir. Any one use one of these for On Board Air???
Also, I picked up a TFI coil off a '87 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe with a 2300 four cylinder. Is this the coil I need to finish my upgrade? I have the cap already.
One more question, Can I run a TFI coil on my Motorhome? It has electronic ign. but uses a canistor type coil.

Autozone insisted that Ford did not start using the "square coil" until '90. Then again they had never heard of TFI either.

Ford started using the TFI coil in 83, but it didn't make it into most production vehicles until 84.

The coil you found will work just fine.
(did you get the connector and coil bracket with it?)

Do a resistance test across the low voltage terminals...
You should come up with 0.40 to 0.45 Ohm.
If it comes up to these resistance figures, you should be fine.

If you come up with a large amount of resistance or no resistance at all, the coil is defective.

You will have to change coil wires or ends on the coil wire....

I took the bracket, two wire connector, and the coil wire. I have a coil wire around here somewhere that came in my set of plug wires that should work also, just need to find it. I'll check resistance later today. Can I also use this coil on my old Dodge?????

Yes, you can use it on any vehicle.
Your Dodge already has resistors in place, so go for it.
Pay attention to polarity, and you will be fine.

Your correct, my posting was unclear. Anyway, I wanted to know if the coil I got from the junkyard could be used on my Jeep, which is a Ford 302 with Durasprak. You answered yes. I also wanted to know if this coil could be used on my old Dodge, to which you answered yes.
Thanks for the help, I plan on upgrading both this week after work.
