I just got back from the Providence Auto Show, and I saw a 2002 Wrangler X . It didn't seem to have anything special, what's the deal with this? Did I miss something?

It's the new Wrangler model which is between a Sport and an SE. Apparently, it's a cheaper version of the Sport with only the most popular Sport options. When my girlfriend was shopping for a 2002 Wrangler, we saw a lot of X's which looked exactly like Sport's, same wheel/trim packages, but actually had a shorter list of overall options. On the other hand, we saw some X's which were loaded with options and very closely reseambled the Sport in terms of price.

Short answer, X gives you the flexibility to get the most popular Sport options at a lower price than an actual Sport.

If I'm right...the X can get the 4.0, but you CAN'T get the Dana 44...

You can trust me with your life, your safety, and your property, but not too many nights in the same room with you.
