Jeep Parts Shopping

Hey Guys,

Christmas time is almost here again... Can you believe it? I can't. I'm looking to get a unique Jeep part for my lil bro for christmas. He has '79 CJ7 with the blue denim Levi Package. He has always wanted to get highback front seats for it and I am thinking about locating a set of those for him.

Where do you guys do your shopping for unique items like this? I did a search for threads within the BBS and I don't believe anyone has asked anything like this before. Ideally, I would like some kind of a website I could go to order this type of thing.

Also, what would you guys suggest as good "Jeep gifts" for the fellow Jeeper? What would you get that is $200 or less? His Jeep is a 79 CJ7 - absolutely bone stock except for a tire/wheel upgrade.

If you're not familiar with the fabric type I attached a pic which shows an OK shot of his interior...

Thx,
Sean

There really is no Jeep specific classified site out there. Often times people will be swapping parts and then offer them for sale. With things like seats its very hard to find a good set of original used Jeep seats. Especially the fronts because those are the first to go. Good luck with your search, its not impossible, just very difficult.

As for good Jeep gifts......tools are always nice. I'd flip through one of the major catalogs out there and just about anything thats under your price range would be a good gift. Stay away from the shiney stuff though unless he really likes stainless or chrome.

as an 18 y/o with a jeep, for a 200 or less gift, I would like to get a quality set of driving/fog lights up front that both look good and function. just my thoughts

Does he use it off road at all?
If so:
Hi Lift jack = $50
Tow strap = 30
Clevis (D ring) = 20
Tow hooks F&R = 30
--------------------------------
Total $130
And will get him out of 8 out of 10 situations he can get himself into.

If it is a street jeep, maybe some pretty stainless or something?

Also, check with 4 Wheel Drive Hardware and Quadratec. They sometimes will have a special on all 3 seats and offer their seats in the denim material. It will be more than $200 though.

Not yet... but when he gets out of college.. I believe it is in his future.

I like the list of stuff... thanks for your suggestions.

Or if it's like this Jeep...

...maybe a subscription to AAA or a new cell phone?

HARSH!

Kind of scared now... I think that Commando is in nicer shape than my bro's... If he has a cell phone, and a AAA membership... perhaps I should just get him a spare parts CJ and trailer that he can tow around with him where ever he goes...
I'd love to have a parts vehicle in tow at all times. That'd be awesome. LOL
Hey, I don't need a new cell phone, I work for a cell phone company. I just need to carry a spare front diff and a spare radiator (or 2).
