Nathan Collier has been having legal problems with Daimler-Chrysler over silly things. See the most recent letter at his forum, http://7slotgrille.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=768

I remember in the 80s Daimler had snoops hassling independant benz shop owners about logos being displayed.
I'm glad I'm into old vehicles, I would really have a hard time spending money with the current owners of Jeep.

We really need to get Jeep away from DC and get it back in the hands of a US company. Maybe if all the Jeep owners get together and buy stock we can take over the company.

I just thought of something....Jeep used Pegot transmissions, made by the French, and soon after the Germans took over. Just like WWI and WWII the french rolled over as soon as the Germans showed up. So the Liberty is the frenches fault.

Hmmmm..... I.... hmmmmmm....
I see why they went after him I guess, but what a bunch of @#%*! I really liked the replies, though. Especially the "fixed it" one (would that be you Paul?). Next they'll be after the guys that sign posts with the grill thing.

A few years ago toys-r-us whent after anyone using r-us or any name close. We had a place named "cars are us" and one my friend worked at named "clothes-r-us" they all got nasty letters like that.
All lawers need shot

we also had a guy in eastern idaho that got sued for using jeep in store name. he won! He proved that he was called jeep before it was copyrighted.

That almost looks like a fish letter- an attorney/s will pick something at random that they believe they can make money on- said attorneys, ie: vultures, will then strive to get both parties involved, with them being the middleman, or the winner- either way, they win-

IF I were Nate, i wouldnt sell the stickers, but I would batch them as a freebie with another sticker- if he dosent make income on it, they cant whine. Its hard to sue when you dont make income on a product- hey, their for personal use! I found them! A guy at the jeep stealership gave them to me as a promo-!!

orrrrr- make it an 8 slot grill, and tell them its a vehicle you created in your years as a body man, its most certinally not a jeep, and in fact, no longer exists- it was a one off, a work of art!

If it wasent sucha big company/corp, an didnt have such clout(cash/vultures/retainer) i think I would fight it just for fun-- but now days, the winner is the one with the most cash and lawyers....uhhhh, vultures.

Nathan won't sell any more stickers, and won't comment about it on a public forum, I don't blame him.

Someone else is selling the stickers at the following link, If you want some you had better order them FAST, the krauts are probably writing them a letter, too.
