It was GREAT fishing--Thanks dorfs

I just got back yesterday from fishing in Colorado. Thanks to dorfs my Waggie ran great in the altitude. A lot apparently as transpired on this forum from Wednesday through Monday. I would have to mention that I'm glad I missed out. The tone of the posts referring to this debacle have me wondering if this Board is going to continue in the same positive manner it has since I signed on.
I am glad to see the parties involved are still posting. We are certainly all human enough to make mistakes and hopefully confident enough to admit it and move on. It would appear, at first glance, that this is taking place and I for one hope it is all forgotten soon. I am trying to remember that we are all Jeepin' brothers and sisters and that will be the force that keeps this Board going. PEACE/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

Good!! I'm glad you enjoyed our state. Where did you go? or is that a secret. I'm not a big fisherman, but I do enjoy fly fishing for the little cutthroats when I camp at tree line.
P.S. any pheasants out where you live?

No secrets. I fished the first day on the Colorado near Parshall and Kremmling and had only a couple tugs but saw quite a few fish. Two other anglers had caught three and five apiece and had fished all day. It didn't look to promising so I drove down to Canon City. There is a flyshop called Royal Gorge Anglers there with really nice folks who give very honest fishing reports . They sent me over to the South Platte at Eleven Mile Canyon. I had a nice day there for snow and shadowy canyon country--meaning the wind didn't blow right through me. Caught two nice rainbows there. The shop also told me about the tailwater below Pueblo Reservoir and thought it might be a little trashed by baitfisherman. It wasn't bad at all and the fishing was good. Dry flies and emergers from 10 am until 4 pm or later. I landed over thirty fish and must have missed 15 or 20 more on short strikes or (more likely) over anxious hooksets. Went back Sunday as well since it was the same direction back home to Kansas. Man I love your beautiful state.
The Wagoneer ran great with just the timing adjustment you recommended. It still doesn't like being over about 7500 feet but I'm not sure many vehicles do.
At least I wasn't dogging it up the passes like usual. Thanks again for your advice and sharing your great state with a flatlander/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif
Kansas has fields full of pheasants some years but it hasn't been as good the last few according to my hunting friends. You see I'm only allowing myself two addictions for now Jeeps and flyfishing/wwwthreads_images/icons/shocked.gifWestern Kansas around Goodland has reportedly still been very good but I can't really help much otherwise.
