Isuzu tooper question?

I am contemplating an Isuzu trooper, 2000-2002, for a DD and an off road rig. Can anyone tell me of their Troopers, good and bad news? I have a 2000 Xterra that I am driving and want a little bigger rig. What are the best and worse features for this 4x4 trooper. Automatic or manual transmission? Transmission problems or engine problems, engine life, engine power and anything that you think important! Thank you for all input. MTGunner
