Well I have everything together , parts wise.
I found a place that has 43 and 46 jets so I got them based on the 1980 jeep manual specs. but it is for a 304...the carb came off a ford econoline with a 302 and it had 50's in it..I was thinking that would be too rich.

any opinions on which I should use based ojn trial and error ?

the power valve from the GP Sorensen kit has nothing stamped on it but it looks to be a two stage based on size. I also picked up a new 7.5 also based on specs from the manual. although the place I got it from didn't have any two stage powervalves.

The oroignal power valve has a circle with 7.5 in the middle but also has a 3 stamped breaking the circle ...would this be a two stage or not ? it is no larger than the other new 7.5 I just bought.

My mc2100 came from an 82 e-van. It has the size 50 jets and is currently running flawlessly on my 258. The mixture seems perfect and performance is great. Even the Ford choke is working. I don't know about the power valve, I just used the one that came in the kit. I say try it the way it is and change if needed. Seems diffrent people get diffrent results from diffrent variations of the carb, jet sizes, etc. Good Luck

I used 47's (as that was what was in the 304's carb) and they worked well. Run what you have and examine the plugs to see if they are a nice tan color. The 43's might be too lean and do some damage. You can tell a 2 stage power valve by it's length, as they are longer. My 2 stage valve measure out at around 39mm.

The powervalve that came in the Sorensen kit is 39mm but it is not stamped as to the vacume rating...As for the jets I have heard people talking about a bog under acceleration and figured it may be due to too large a jet.Anyhow he jets are relativley easy to change out the power valve might be a bigger PITA

The Jep manual specs out at 43., 44, 46 for the 304 I figured that should be rich enough for the 258 and the 50 s in it might be too rich.
