For some unknown reason, when I now turn on my lights my right-hand turn signal indicator (the little green arrow inside the speedometer) light comes on and stays on. I if use the flashers or the right blinker, the indicator light blinks but returns to solid green after the flashers or turn signal are canceled. This is an 1986 cj-7 that is rarely driven and even less so at night. I now can't remember if both indicator lights are supposed to be on and blink when in use or the right-hand side on is stuck on. I removed the flasher relay-fuse and the condition still exists. This problem seems to have no effect whatsoever on the operation of the turn signals or flasher--they work just fine.

Thanks in advance for your help.

This is a pretty common problem that I had occur. Mine was caused by the front parking/signal light
shorting out between the two contacts on the base of the bulb. This usually occurs when it's been out in
heavy rain. I replaced both front signal assemblies and don't have the problem anymore. Yours could be
the right rear, but mine was always the front.

Another thought, if you don't have a good ground from the bulb base, it will cause the problem. The
bulb filaments will series and go to ground through the other lamp circuits. The front side marker lights
actually work this way.
