In dash swith replace...?

485 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  willyswanter
WEll, After "borrowing" some of my old man's parts (our trucks are nearly identical) I've determined that my problem is NOT a low coolant level in the A/C. It's the whole switch assembly....you know...fan speed/temp. controll/blower position. I'm gonna have to replace this and i can only assume that it is a dealer only part. Does anyone ahve a good idea what this chunk of plastic is going to cost me? I"m gonna have to get it soon as the temps are rising, so if you could keep this towards the top I'd appreciate it.
Thanks for the help.

i think its close to $200...if you can, search the junk yards and such for the newer trucks and see if you can pull a unit from there. i was pricing this thing too and a guy said the unit was mine for $50. of course, make sure you test the unit to make sure it works, otherwise, it sux to be you /wwwthreads_images/icons/shocked.gif /wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif

Straight from the dealership mine was $119. $96 after my discount. Bout 6 months after getting the truck mine went out. The position switch (floor to dash vents) went out. Had to get whole unit replaced.
