/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif McCain's a great American. When he loses the nomination to Bush(and he will) just remember that a REPUBLICAN is the opposite of a lying, scumbag democrat, and vote for BUSH. We MUST have that oval office back!!!/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

Re: I\'m Voting for John McCain

I never really have looked at the guy's positions in detail, but it strikes me I saw something a few months ago where he was ready to go for gun registration. That's the kiss of death for any politician in my eyes.

Hell, I voted for a Democrat eight years ago, because I spoke to him personally, his views on most issues were reasonable and he assured me he wouldn't vote for gun control. Then he went back there and voted for the Brady Bill. And that's the last time I voted or ever will vote for a Democrat. He lied like Bill Clinton. In my book they all lie.

CJDave is right.

Re: I\'m Voting for John McCain

i read on the back of an Album (you know before CD's) once a quote,
"if you don't vote, don't bitch"
there are alot of people that do alot of talking, if more action is taken things might be alittle closer to how we want them,
I agree, vote and be heard (however small your voice)

thanks for the link, read it liked it.
ya know about being a traitor while a POW, (i went through a "School" about being a POW and that was enough for me to realize that following the "Code of Conduct" for POW's is an ideal. (i wouldn't hold it against anyone that said things under this situation)
about his wife's problems, McCain admitted he spent to much time in D.C. and not enough with his family. Well, now i'm a family man but spending to much time at work might be a good quality for president.

Re: I\'m Voting for John McCain

/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif You know.....politics in this country has got to the point where the candidate that generates the 'feeling' gets the votes. The scumbag has never, ever actually said anything of any substance, just bull$hit and lies, but he left the people with the impression that he was going to do THEM some kind of favor. That's where it's at folks....voters get a "feeling' about a candidate, it's not about substance. If it were, Pat Buchanan would be my choice. His first words after being sworn in as prez would be to turn to the scumbag (and the scumbag's wife)and say: "You have the right to remain silent......" I believe Bush can win because people just think they ought to vote for him....no particular reason....it just sounds like a good idea. All we have to do is post more votes than all the(legislate MORE perversion) queers, the uninformed(Speak Spanish to me and force the country to give me free healthcare!)) Hispanics, the uninformed(Gimme more handouts!) blacks, the environmental(Get man OFF this planet! Except for us liberal tree-huggers of course.) whackos, the (It's NOT murder, it's CHOICE)abortion bunch and of course all the hollwoodies, the liberals, and those totally misguided union members whose leadership has sold them out electing a scumbag who has given their jobs to the Chi-Comms, along with the Panama canal./wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif

Re: I\'m Voting for John McCain

I probably shouldnt say this

But damn CJDAVE

Ive been watching this board for a few months now, and every political post youve made has lots of Homophobic and Racial overtone to it??!! why is that?

This isnt a personal attack at you really, Im just curious if these things you stand for "freedom" is mainly founded in racism?

No wonder people who read about us 4 wheelers get the wrong idea, with lots of posts like this around, it makes us sound like a bunch of Manson/Koresh kind of guys..

Re: I\'m Voting for John McCain

CJDave is not racist. He's refering to the people that have been mislead by the bleeding heart liberals and told they are "owed" something because their ancesters were mistreated a long time a go by people that are now dead. I couldn't agree more with him. I didn't mistreat anybody and I don't owe them anything. I am sympathetic to the truly unfortunates (read: lost their jobs, got sick, can't work) and I do think we, the more fortunate (read: found a job and worked for what we have) have an obligation to help them out. Most of these people happen to not be white.

As far as being Homophibic..............God had a reason for creating men and women different. Sorry to offend anybody, but that's how I feel about that issue. What you do in your personal life is your right. Just don't flaunt it and shove it down my throat and don't expect preferential treatment from me.

I'll get down off my soapbox now.

Keep up the good commentary CJDave. It's entertaining as well as informative.

Re: I\'m Voting for John McCain

Everyone is entitled to (and responsible for the repercussions of) their own views. Some people are more conservative in their political views than others, but there are all kinds. Dave and I have been coresponding on and off for a long time along with posts on this board and I believe he is like a lot of us, just plain FED UP. There are those like myself that are conservative, but slightly more moderate in their point of view, maybe being 44 instead of 56 I'm not at the point of being as fed up as Dave. Also living in the SW in an area that is largely ignored by the politicians helps. Point is, it takes all points of view, personally I don't agree with some of what Dave says, but on the other hand I agree with an awful lot of it. After all, the liberals are making an awful lot of noise, it's time for the other side to be heard.

Re: I\'m Voting for John McCain

The reason that John McCain had such a low percentage in Iowa is because he's the only Republican candidate that is against government subsidies to corn farmers. Iowa grows A LOT of corn, so he didn't even campaign there, as he knew that it would be fruitless.

Something else to think about, 3/4tonYJ - McCain was one of only about 5 senators/representatives that voted AGAINST a pay increase for the military - wasn't there a thread about that up here somewhere? Also, one of the groups that is most strongly opposed to him is the former POW's. They say that he doesn't care about them or something, which is odd since he's a former POW himself... I dunno. I'll vote for the Republican candidate, whoever he is (probably Bush).

Re: I\'m Voting for John McCain

I like CJDave he gives GREAT advice on here,
Im just tired of having anothers political views shoved down my throat on here...

we all have opinions, Its hard for me to differentiate between folks who simply are racist, or tired of people getting Free Government rides when described primarily by there race or country of origin..
...

dont get me wrong, Im just hoping for a little more insight on CJdaves outlook and views, I know it has to be a little more mainstream than what it appears on the surface..

McCain gets my vote! The worry I have with George Jr. (other than his vacant stare) is that there is supposed to be a hell of a lot of dirt on him and the press is holding back until he gets the nomination, then wham bam it's President Gore. Vote McCain--he'll crush Gore in the general election (not to mention he won't take any $hit from China!)/wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif.

Re: I\'m Voting for John McCain

This is exactly what the Democrats want, arguing amongst ourselves instead of looking at the issues at hand.

Senator John McCain visited the Valley Forge Military Academy last June. While there my son had the privilege of meeting he and his wife. In the discussion with him, my son asked him if there would, or should, be charges against the now inplace administration. McCain asked my son what he would charge them with if he were in charge. My son's reply was "High crimes and Treason." McCain said that it may be something to look at.

Also, it was stated earlier that McCain had broke during torture, this made him questionable. While performing my military service to my country, I was captured. The deprivation of food, sleep, and being beaten to the point of broken fingers, broken hands and a broken sternum, you begin to tell them anything you can think of that won't hurt your buddies. In McCain's position, he was used as a pawn to negotiate with.

I consider him very honorable and a person who will think twice before sending in the troops to foreign soil. He will not take away our weapons because he knows that this is what keeps our government in check.

By the way, this school's policy that my son attends says that if you are not wearing your weapon, you can be cited for being out of uniform. My son is thirteen years of age. It is not the weapon that does the killing or harm, it is the person behind it. This school is proof of that theory.
