I'm not sure why, but it's good to be being the neutral dudes. I was assuming that the dune guys will be hibernating by their computers since it's very hot/wwwthreads_images/icons/mad.gif in the desert right now.

You still have that bug you are trying to sell I hope?

yep still got the bug. it's waiting for your $$ to come buy it from me. /wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gifit has the engine in and it runs but it needs tuning bad. the brakes need to be bled out too. the dune guys need to come over here to pismo. although it is small it has nice weather year round. i think it is about 65* out there right now. i am glad i don't live in the desert anymore for that reason.

I've never been to Frisco and I don't mind the gay thing there, I have nothing against them. Besides I just want a nice long drive with the family thru hiway 101.
1776 is worth the drive there. I'll keep you in mind and save up some money. Maybe part trade you some fresh 22R block,reground crank .010, and a rebuilt head.
Actually there are 2 heads 1 is 20R and a 22R ported and polished.
I was going to use the Toyota engine for my Baja but a friend of mine pester me not to because it's too heavy.

shoot i didn't think about this small problem. aarrgghh. the bug lives in my mom's garage which is over between bakersfield and fresno, and that is where no smart person would go on vacation! LOL actually she lives near sequoia national park which is a wonderful place to vacation. giant sequoia trees are amazing. you can still stop by SLO though, i'll take you out for a beer downtown.

No dude, I'm 10 miles away to the beach, 30 miles to the desert(Borrego), 30 minutes to Tijuana, 2.5 hours to Glamis, 20 minutes to Carlsbad raceway, an hour and half or 2 hrs. to Ensenada Baja 1000(depending on the speed). And 25 minutes to Ivan Stewart's shop/wwwthreads_images/icons/shocked.gif Ain't that cool?

Hows the weather up in the hills near your moms place.. I go camping all the time up past Cal Hot Springs, near Johnsondale... Wanna go real soon just dont want to get there and snow still be on the ground. Last year I went this early and all my water froze over night.. That was one cold night!!!

i was just there in porterville last weekend and the weather was pretty good. a little warm but that is normal. that is a neat area up above cal. hot springs. have you ever been to sherman peak? where are you coming from?

Form the LA area.. have been going up there for the last 10 years.. Warm huuu??? Oposite of what I expected.. Just might have to take a pre run before our summer run with the family.. No have not been to sherman peek but have beeen to Dome Rock... Nice view!! Gota get me a bloody mary form the Ponderosa.. i don't know of nay good trails up there but to get to sherman peak there is a trail that looked pretty good. it goes up in altitude about 3,000 feet from start to finish but isn't that long of a trail. i think the peak is around 10,000 feet in altitude. it is a little ways past johnsondale but before you get to sherman pass. it is labeled as a "jeep trail". i'll bet that johnsondale is still pretty cold tempature wise.
i moved away from that area before i had a 4x4 so i don't know the trails that well.
