I\'m Back!!

Been out of town from the 31st, till now, but I'm back.

The BBS says there are 3050 new messages from the last time I was on!!
You guys have been busy!

Dave, I have to tell you that I have been standing in awe of your mastery of moonguy facial expressions.. you really have them down..

Also, Aaron, welcome back, we all missed your input around here..

Anyone remember the days of 300 bps modems and dial up BBS's located in someone's basement with one phone line and 3 hours of busy signals. We used to dial and dial and dial to get through and post one message, then repeat the cycle to check for replies. We'd be lucky to get 50 posts in a weeks time. Aaron leaves for 10 days and comes back to 3000 messages... ain't technology amazing?

I remember getting my first 1200 bps modem. I was like the GOD of BBS'n when I got it and I spent 300 bux on that sucker.. O N E L E T T E R A T A T I M E!!!

ahh the good old basement BBS days, I remember visting the guys who started cdnow in there parents basement in Media, they had a T1 line it blew my mind. hard to believe it was just about 10 years ago WOW

/wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif In engineering skool I avoided taking FORTRAN/wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif(Yuk!)...saved me from learning a soon-to-be-obsolete skill/wwwthreads_images/icons/laugh.gif In business I kept it small/wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gifso I wouldn't NEED a compooter. I didn't need any programs to help me on bookeeping/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gifso I didn't get a compooter. My files are always complete and hermetically sealed so I didn't need any tapes, discs, or drives. So....since I did not TOUCH a cyberbox till a year ago, I AVOIDED all of that start-up malarkey. All I have to do now is learn this high-speed people-friendly technique and I'm up to speed/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gifthereby circumventing the whole UNIVAC-ERA/wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gifsubterranean computer beginnings. THANK GOODNESS! I remember going to someone's office and they were hip deep in printer paper trying to get a program to run right. I just smiled and went on my non-cyber way. I know that this is going to come as a shock/wwwthreads_images/icons/shocked.gifto a lot of you, but you actually CAN live without a compooter and a cellphone/wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif
